Functional Obedience and Impulse Control Working Dog Obedience focuses on cultivating the discipline, reliability, and responsiveness of dogs trained for specialized roles such as search and rescue, detection, protection, or service tasks. This training emphasizes foundational obedience, ensuring dogs execute commands promptly and consistently in diverse environments and under varying levels of distraction.
- Core Commands: Sit, stay, heel, come, down, and place.
- Impulse Control: Teaching the dog to resist distractions or triggers and remain focused on their handler.
- Handler Communication: Strengthening the bond and understanding between the handler and the dog through clear signals, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Environmental Adaptability: Conditioning the dog to perform tasks in high-stress, loud, or unfamiliar settings.
- Reinforcement Techniques: Utilizing positive reinforcement methods to encourage learning and maintain motivation.
Designed for both novice handlers and experienced professionals, Working Dog Obedience establishes the solid behavioral foundation necessary for advanced training and successful task execution.
